Hello, my name is Ciro Artigot and I am going to try to tell you something about myself , especially about my life and professional experience.

I am currently responsible for digital processes and developments at ECODES at Zaragoza (Spain).

Ciro ArtigotMy professional life is long and diverse. I started very young, still studying Economics, I began to help my parents who were commercial agents, in the office and stationery sector, we sold a little of everything through dozens of representations of the sector, traveling through Aragón, Navarra, La Rioja and Soria. Those were years in which I hardened myself in the commercial world,  visiting from small town shops to department stores and distributors.

When I finished my degree, the military and became independent , I continued as a commercial for someone else, selling insurance, disinsection and rat removal, cork floors, stuffed animals of all sizes, and visiting hundreds of schools throughout Aragon as a delegate from Santillana.

In 1999 I decided to turn my life around and dedicate myself to what I had always wanted: programming . After several courses in HTML, C ++, ASP, Javascript, I liked the idea so much that I did a master's degree in programming languages, where I developed my first guestbook ( with ASP and MS SQL Server), development that allowed me to start working at end of the year in my beloved Construction Zone .

They were 5 wonderful years in Zona de Obras, developing websites of artists such as Calamaro , Bunbury , Sabina . We developed the first online orders for records and books that were made online, and we ended up making one of the first and best online stores of musical material that existed in those years: zonadecompras.com . Years of intense work, learning and developing both the web and the VB store management (ERP, orders, stocks, labels).

At the same time, I was doing my own projects, and it was in 2004 when I discovered Mambo (which later became Joomla! ). It didn't take long for me to launch the web zaragozaonline.com, which through SEO managed to position it first in Google by searching for "Zaragoza". The Twitter account was also for years the one with the most followers in Zaragoza. I started  developing free GPL extensions for Joomla ! . It was the Joomla! the one that piqued my interest in CMS and free software ... and what definitely made me switch from ASP / ASP.net to PHP , from MS SQL Server to MySQL ,IIS for Apache and MS for Linux .

In May 2005 , the opportunity arose to work in an NGO called Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo (ECODES), since they were then looking for an IT manager and web developer. I changed jobs. Since then my commitment to ECODES continues, we have evolved together and now I am part of the communication and climate action team, with responsibility for the technological layer of the foundation's projects , analyzing processes and making the different developments possible. As IT Manager, I have also been in charge of purchasing, managing suppliers, clients, networks, developing and contracting internal tools (ERP, CRM, etc.), as well as outsourcing certain developments.

I have always combined my main job with other activities: freelance web developer, IT consultant, professor for three years in the Master of Digital Marketing at UCJC, collaborator with the UN office in Zaragoza, undocker, reviewer of technical books and especially the development of free software for Joomla! .

I am a different , creative programmer who likes to give intelligent solutions to complex processes . The simplification and reduction to the absurd are two of my best tools. I manage well on client and server. It may be FullStack Developer , but that name bores me! I develop my own extensions because I am demanding with the code , I rarely use third-party developments, I like to have control of what I implement, from start to finish, define the processes well and try to minimize management .

I have also worked in these more than 20 years of experience as a programmer in MEAN, LEAN, LAMP, Git, Docker, Ubuntu, AWS, npm, pm2, nginx, apache, noSQL and Graph Databases, SPA, PWA & AMP, PHP, ASP , nodeJS / RestFull, WS (SOAP) / OOP, MVC, AJAX, Angular, jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, CSS, mySQL, MS SQL Server, Mondodb, Neo4js, JSON, ADP + VBA in MS SQL, SAP Business One. E clairvoyantly I'm not an expert in all those technologies. I am comfortable in the LAMP environment developing websites with some complexity and intranets, attacking APIs and taking great care of users and content or process managers .

I am a developer used to listening and understanding people: clients, suppliers, bosses, colleagues and users. My entire professional career allows me to have a global vision, both in space and time, of the problems to be solved, the possibility of interaction with the different actors who participate in complex projects, and empathy in the relationship with all of them.

At the moment, I am working on:

  • Blockchain , trying to understand the complexity of this technology, going down to the programming level: Smart contracts, Ethereum, Hyperledger and Quorum
  • Take into account the  LPD and its involvement in the technological processes for which I am responsible : legal notices, privacy policies and cookies.
  • Immersed in the project #PorElClima Community , initiative ECODES , which represents a technological challenge climate action and contributing to the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
  • Get back free development in Joomla 4 ! I want to contribute back to the community, contributing extensions and my experience.
  • Developing a CRM and attacking the APIs of Zoom Webinars, Mailchimp, POS, etc ..., optimizing processes and relationship management.
  • Teaching Joomla! advanced level to a group of programmers

And nothing else for now .... :)
